Jake Shimabukuro Ukelele - While My Guitar Gently Weeps

Jake Shimabukuro & Ukelele:

Jake Shimabukuro is an Hawaiian borne Japanese American ukelele player. He received his first ukelele at the age of 4 years and has been mesmerised with it's unique sound ever since. Shimabukuro first came to prominence in the the band Pure Heart, when in 1998 their debut album won the Hawaiian equivalent of 4 Grammy Awards (Na Hoku Hanohano Awards). He is known for his very fast ukelele finger work and his very diverse style of blues, funk, classical, rock, bluegrass, pop, jazz and Hawaiian music.

He came to international attention after internet videos surfaced of him playing George Harrison's My Guitar Gently Weeps. A studio version of the song has been released on his latest CD, "Gently Weeps".

Jake is often referred to as the ‘Jimi Hendrix of the ukulele’.
